    On Saturday, we will be celebrating 4 weeks of Ultima Shards!

    4 Weeks...

    What an amazing experience it's been so far.

    The launch, while a few small snags hours in, went better than we could have hoped for, and the community has been fantastic and extremely supportive.

    It's not often that you see a server continue to grow week in and week out after launch. Typically, most server's numbers die off after a couple days to weeks after the server's launch. But every weekend we continue to push our totals higher and higher.

    We have new players coming to join the Multiverse seemingly everyday and community members so helpful in helping them begin playing.

    As always on a new shard, minor bugs have to have taken priority before we could sit down and design and implement any new types of content.

    Now that we have a little breathing room, we are pleased to announce some new event types (familiar for some) and some new implementations as well.


    Instanced Dungeons
    We will be kicking off the instanced dungeons with our first of many, Sewers Of Britain.
    Players will be able to form or join groups to tackle challenging content to earn some unique rewards.
    This dungeon is not meant to be "end-game" challenging. But it is geared toward being medium-high ranged difficulty. In order to balance the template types, pets will take 50% more damage and deal 33% less damage.

    Boosts
    Being in an Instanced Dungeon will automatically boost your luck in the dungeon by 500 when determining loot.

    Loot Types
    • Standard Looting - Looting an item directly off the monster's corpse.
    • Need/Greed Looting - Prompts a Need/Greed/Pass roll to all members of the dungeon for any item listen as an Gearscore of Rare or higher. The item will not need to be looted, just rolled on, and it will appear in the player's bag who won the roll.
    Lockout / Portal Decay
    You will have 4 hours upon entering the Instanced Dungeon to complete it before the portal collapses and you are removed from the Dungeon. You will then have 20 hours before you can attempt the Instanced Dungeon again. Effectively making it so that you can only attempt the dungeon once every 24 hours.



    Broodmother Silitha (Weekly PvP Event - Saturdays 12PM Central)
    "After the Guilds of Sosaria met and developed new Quests for their members to embark on, the Myrmidex population began to dwindle down. The Broodmother Silitha, normally at rest underground for years, has become angered and emerged. She carries fine loot, attracting guilds to her call, and to take revenge on those who slay her kind."

    This event type is a full fledged guild on guild battle royale. Upon the event opening, town criers will open a portal to the location of the dungeon that Silitha has spawned at. The boss will spawn at random locations in the deepest levels of dungeons.

    Silitha has two phases, and will periodically use AOE Damage and inflict poison on everyone in the area.
    She will also spawn minions periodically that may swarm to opponents.

    In order to maintain good economic balance and guild participation, upon death, Silitha will drop 4 custom artifacts (high quality - compared to Doom super artifacts like Orny and AoF) and a unique hued shroud with 1 of each resist. These artifacts are NOT permanent, however, they provide a good bonus to those guilds who obtain them. They will last until the following week when the next weekly PvP event boss has been killed. Once the Broodmother is killed again, the old set of artifacts will vanish and she will drop a new set.

    5 items total will be distributed randomly to those within range and who have damage rights.

    The event however, is not over yet... Players who obtained the artifacts will be displayed in Global chat with the item that they received. They will turn criminal, be highlighted a blaze hue, and the item will be cursed until the person with the item has made it out of the dungeon. Once all 5 artifacts have made it out of the dungeon safely, they will be uncursed, and the event will be over.

    Abyssal Devourer (Weekly PvM Event - Ilshenar - Sundays 12PM Central)
    "After the defeat of Mondain and shattering of the Gem of Immortality, The Guardian, always failing in his attempts to defeat the Avatar's of Sosaria, devised a plot to summon forth his most trusted minion, the Abyssal Devourer. Having destroyed dozens of words, the Abyssal Devourer sensed a perfect opportunity to finally rid the world of the Avatar. Being too weak to summon the the Devourer to Sosaria himself, The Guardian cast a powerful enchantment on a sleeping dragon weakening it to near death. Once discovered, the Avatars will make an ill-attempt to heal the dragon and the curse will channel all the healing powers of the Avatars into enough life force needed for the summon..."

    This event is a full-scale PvM event.

    Upon activation, portals will be placed on all Town Criers to the location of the dungeon in Ilshenar. Reds and Criminals will be prevented from traveling there.

    The Abyssal Devourer has 3 devastating AOE attacks and will periodically summon Sosaria's most dangerous Dungeon Bosses. Once these bosses have been summoned, the Abyssal Devourer will watch his minions wreak havoc upon the Avatars while being un-attackable until all of his minions are slain.

    Like the weekly PvP Boss, the artifacts obtained from the Devourer will be Temporary Items, boosting the obtainer for that week. For every 20 players participating in the event, one artifact will be dropped, with no limit on how many will drop. Once obtained, they can be insured and will last until the next Abyssal Devourer has been slain.

    We will likely see our largest player count during this event as all players who are participating in the event, and have been there for a large portion of the event, will have a chance at obtaining these artifacts. Not just the elite of the elite.

    Automated PvP
    As promised, we will begin rocking out our Auto-PvP within the coming days.
    This system will automatically create fun-filled battles for players to participate in and enjoy.

    We will begin with Capture The Flag, and then include 5v5, and Free For All and even Largescale PvP matches, up to 20 on 20.
    All of these matches will be Unranked at first and we will eventually switch to have some Ranked games that will reward Points that can be used to spend at a special PvP shop.
    (Blessed Black Sandals, Unique PvP Related Artifacts, The most sought after Pigments, etc)


    Certain days will see different automated, multiple scheduled PvP events so keep an eye out for those. Battles will be announced in game automatically when they start accepting queues.



    Veteran System
    That one month of game time will be coming soon for people that have been playing a large amount on the server since opening and players will start being rewarded with points they can spend for some cool aesthetic and custom items, or can keep to spend on their next month's reward list!

    Every month of game-time there will be different rewards and possible items to be obtained!

    We cant wait to showcase and release all the fun content we have planned, and this is just the tip of the iceberg! Even from now, we have our next two expansion designs planned (One pertaining to Galleons and High Seas content, enhancements to fishing, server event boss that spawns in the water and can only be killed with galleon cannons, making for some epic water siege PvP) and Fortresses (building siege fortresses with Guild currency that can be sieged by opposing guilds with some extra Guild Feature enhancements + more)

    All events will be for USA ppl or in future it will be changed to more neutral for EU time?
    Kinda no chances for me to be at 8 AM at event.

    CST is 5 hours behind GMT. So, 12pm CST will be 5 PM GMT.

    Pretty good time for both NA and EU

    12PM is noon not midnight. 12AM CST would be 6AM gmt.

    It dawns on me that some places might flip PM/AM for noon. Perhaps we should use 24h clock from now on. These events will take place at 12:00 CST / 18:00 GMT
